A Retrospective of Alexander Rutsch Opening Reception

transFORM Gallery broke all art opening night attendance and sales records during our Saturday, June 13th, Alexander Rutsch Retrospective reception. Understandably, this was a result of Alexander’s international notoriety and local influence as an artist.

transFORM Art Gallery Director, Kara O’Neill and Alexander’s daughter Alexi Brock, lead the presentation reminiscing about her father’s early background and his time spent in France where he collaborated with his contemporaries, Picasso and Dali.  These collaborations are strongly seen in several paintings throughout our gallery.

This show is a great opportunity to view museum quality work as evidenced by the mixed media portrait of Dali created during a sitting at the St. Regis, New York in 1969. Rutsch’s work is collected worldwide and we are thrilled to make it available to the local audience.

An artist in her own right, Alexander’s wife, Kathy Rutsch, also contributed ceramic arts and paintings to this show.

We think, with Alexander’s musical background, he would have appreciated musicians Eric Katz and Charlie Rhyner, for setting the mood and providing jazz entertainment throughout the night.

This unique show runs through August 30, 2015.

transFORM Gallery Provides Recologie With Wooden Shipping Pallets

Due to transFORM Gallery’s sensible saving, we were able to provide Recologie with wooden shipping pallets for their table tops, now featured in their newly completed restaurant.

Recologie is an eco-friendly establishment located in New Rochelle that focuses on the rise in global sustainability. The restaurant, which also serves as a gallery concentrates on using materials sourced from local artists and designers. Habitat for Humanity Restore Westchester and Recologie’s contractor, Mark Harrigan, worked to convert the wooden pallets into functional dining slabs for their new back room.

Check out the transformation of simple wooden pallets to handy tabletops.
